In 1926, McKinsey & Company was founded by James O. McKinsey and Marvin Bower. McKinsey & Company is a management consulting company that helps businesses with things related to business management topics.

Since 1964, The Company releases published works named the McKinsey Quarterly that involves management discussions and has released important books on business management.

McKinsey Quarterly also puts its proceeds towards the McKinsey Global Institute research organization.

After James had passed away around 1937, the firm was interchanged a couple of times before Marvin Bower had changed it in the 1930s. This gives us the more recent establishment of McKinsey & Company, Marvin Bower set boundaries and a set of principles for the company to follow with his background in law school.

This sets the rule of consultants that were not prompted were asked to leave with no additional business.

McKinsey & Company was also the first management consulting firm to hire recent graduates rather than experienced professional managers.

They believed in giving everybody a fair opportunity for their career in the management consulting field.

With all of their success and morals set in place, McKinsey & Company had expanded over the decades.

Within the 1980’s-1990’s, they had explored new areas for business. By the 2000s, they had 7,700 employees and by 2018, they had over 27,000 management consultants.
